It is highly recommended that all students study every day for 10 minutes using the app Duolingo or at least once a week for 30 minutes, during the summer. If you sign into Duolingo, I can follow your progress. Use your school e-mail. It is a perfect time to relax and have fun and make progress without the stress of school schedules and sports schedules.

WHY STUDY SPANISH DURING THE SUMMER?
Studies have found that students who take the entire summer off backslide, sometimes as much as six months! This makes re-starting in the fall very difficult - students can’t speak Spanish or read as well as they could a couple of months ago and they are out of the routine of regular, daily practice. Often, it is 2-3 months before things are back to normal.
Foreign Language study is a discipline and requires constant reinforcement just to maintain abilities, let alone make progress. Compare it to, say, gymnastics: if you practiced gymnastics every day for 9 months and then stopped for 3 months, if would take many weeks/months to reacquire the skills you had before you took a break! This is exactly what happens in foreign language study! Take it from me (I've been doing this forever!)
Have a great summer!
